2000 join pilgrimage to SHC Holy Door
KOTA KINABALU – St Catherine’s Church Inanam, together with Good Shepherd Church Manggatal and Holy Family Church Telipok jointly organised a pilgrimage to the Holy Door of Mercy at Sacred Heart Cathedral here on 26 June 2016. This pilgrimage was a part of their final preparation for the delegates of the parishes for their first Parish Pastoral Gathering at the Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre on July 4-7.
Accompanying the 2,000 pilgrims were Fr David Sham, Fr Paul Lo and Fr Rayner Bisius whose presence indicated a commitment and support to the delegates and other parishioners for the success of their Parish Pastoral Gathering.
Although this pilgrimage was part of the delegates’ preparation for the Parish Pastoral Gathering, parishioners of St Catherine, Good Shepherd, Holy Family and the Church of Divine Mercy KKIP were also invited to participate. The tremendous response from parishioners jam-packed the Sacred Heart Cathedral to full capacity.
Prior to entering the Holy Door of Mercy, the pilgrims were grouped according to their communities at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Abp Wong briefed them on the meaning of Holy Door, pilgrimage, and indulgence, and led them to enter the Holy Door. The concelebrated Holy Mass was presided by Fr Lo, who is also the spiritual adviser to the Lay Associations and Movements in the archdiocese. – Michael Guntili
