117 conferred Sacrament of Confirmation at HTC

TAWAU – In conjunction with the Feast of Christ the King, 117 candidates were conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation at the 9 am Mass (Malay medium) at Holy Trinity Church (HTC) on 22 Nov 2015.

The confirmands were from the  English, Chinese and Malay classes of both the main parish and outstation chapels.

The Eucharistic celebration, attended by some 2,000 parishioners, was presided by Bishop Julius Gitom, and concelebrated with Msgr Nicholas Ong and Fr Johnny Raju.

At the conclusion of his homily, the prelate addressed the confirmands, “You have decided to strengthen your belief through this Sacrament of Confirmation. Live it and exercise your faith by participating in church activities. Take part in the groups or ministries. Develop your faith and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in you by your serving the church, community or even in your own family.’

He added words of encouragement and appreciation to parents and facilitators for helping to make the day’s celebration a memorable event for the confirmands. All adjourned to the parish hall for a lunch fellowship. – Julita Kantod
