His Excellency Archbishop Wojciech Zaluski appointed as new Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR (29 September 2020) – The Holy Father has appointed His Excellency Archbishop Wojciech Zaluski as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia and East Timor and Apostolic Delegate to Brunei Darussalam.
His Excellency will head the Holy See’s diplomatic mission to Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.
Born on Apr 5, 1960 in Zahiski-Lipniewo, Poland, Wojciech Zaluski was ordained priest on June 1, 1985 for the Diocese of Lomza (Poland).
In July 15, 2014, the Holy Father named him Apostolic Nuncio to Burundi and Titular Archbishop of Diocleziana. He received his episcopal consecration on Aug 9, 2014 from Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, Vatican.
Archbishop Zaluski started his diplomatic service to the Holy See in his earlier years of priestly office in July 1, 1989, after attending the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome with a Diploma in Diplomatic Science and Doctorate in Canon Law.
He has served successively in the Apostolic Nunciatures in Burundi, Malta, Albania, Zambia, Sri Lanka, Georgia, Ukraine, Philippines and Guatemala. He knows the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian.
He will present his Credentials as the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to The Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah.
The date of his arrival in Malaysia has yet to be announced.
