CFC men’s conference participants reminded of role and responsibility

PENAMPANG – Participants of the Catholic Men’s Conference held on 10  June 2017 were reminded of their role and responsibility, not only as heads of their families but also as leaders equipped with listening skills and the virtue of humility for the community.

Father Wiandigool Runsab delivered this timely reminder during the one-day men’s conference organised by Couples for Christ (CFC) Sabah Chapter at Jud’s Hall, St Aloysius Limbanak.

The conference theme was taken from Joshua 1.1-9 ‘’Be Strong and Courageous.’

Talks on 3P’s (Pastor, Provider & Protector) Principles provided much food for thought.

A workshop, games and testimonies added interest to the programme as well.

Johnny Thien, 43, a father of two from St Catherine Inanam, praised God for this rare opportunity for men to come together to share experiences, communicate and exchange ideas while receiving inputs on how to navigate the challenges of families in today’s borderless world, society, and even serving the Church.

Pensioner Aloysius Istabal, 69, of St Aloysius Limbanak Zone, suggested more efforts to be made to promote this integrated programme. He believed that this is a right platform. “This conference is very good because we can explore and deliberate among ourselves in a more open-minded way, between the young and old,  and with different economic backgrounds. It is not easy to get along with people you do not recognise but with this programme everything becomes possible. Without unity like this, the church can easily fall,” said Istabal.

CFC is an international Christian community movement approved by the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu with the aim to bring Christian singles, married couples and children to develop good relationships with God through various activities including Christian Life programmes (CLP) to strengthen their faith in the face of secularisation. It has many supporting programmes such as weekly small group/household meetings, in-house seminars and leadership training to help the members live their faith concretely. – SOCCOM PENAMPANG
