20 couples participate in English pre-marriage course

KOTA KINABALU – Twenty couples participated in the English Pre-Marriage Course at the Sacred Heart Parish Centre here on 8-11 Mar 2017.

The pre-marriage course is pre-requisite for engaged couples and those intended to get married within the year.  It is conducted four or five times a year under the Parish Christian Family Life Committee in either English, BM or Mandarin.  The English unit is handled by Anthony and Monica Kong.

There are seven sessions dealing with the theological, physical, psychological, financial and spiritual aspects of marriage,  two sessions on Natural Family Planning, and  two follow-up sessions.

Couples who wish to get married either at the cathedral or Church of Mary Immaculate Bukit Padang are required to meet with the parish pastor at the parish office at least four months prior to the proposed date of marriage.  The date of marriage can only be decided at the pre-nuptial interview with the parish pastor and not before.
