Peninsular seminarians sent for pastoral immersion in Sabah
PENAMPANG – Four Peninsular seminarians are sent to Sabah for their five-month pastoral immersion in selected parishes.
Three are from Kuala Lumpur Archdiocese: Dominic Tan Chung Yong, 40 (St Simon Likas), Simon Lau Chee Kin, 43 (St Peter Claver Ranau), Bonaventure Rayappan, 30 (St John Tuaran); and one from Penang Diocese – Konstend Gnanapragasam, 41 (St Theresa Tambunan).
Their exposure lasts from January to May.
The pastoral immersion or exposure is part of the seminary programme to enable the seminarians to have a foretaste of the realities of parish life, to help them discern further whether it is truly their calling, and to test their maturity in handling the inherent challenges emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and physically.
KK seminarians on pastoral immersion are Gilbert Marcus (St Joseph Papar), Russel Lawrence (St Michael Penampang), Wilson Francis (Holy Nativity Terawi), Bradley Belly (St John Tuaran) and Petrus Chin (St Peter Kudat).
