Over 2,000 people attend archdiocesan open house
KOTA KINABALU – Over 2,000 faithful from all walks of life attended the third archdiocesan open house at the Sacred Heart Parish Centre here on 25 Dec 2016.
From 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, there was a constant flow of people including priests and religious coming to greet Archbishop John Wong.
Shortly after its opening with a cake-cutting ceremony, Archbishop Emeritus John Lee also came to grace the function.
Those who came were entertained by nine song performances of various groups from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St John Kopungit, St Catherine Inanam, Church of Mary Immaculate Bukit Padang, and St Paul Dontozidon including the aspirants/seminarians and St Cecilia Children’s Choir.
The event concluded with everyone singing the 18th century traditional carol “We wish you a merry Christmas” followed by a blessing from Abp Wong.
