KL Soccom Organises WCD Gathering

CHERAS – The Kuala Lumpur Social Communications Ministry organised a half-day gathering attended by members of the parish soccom ministries, SIGNIS Malaysia, Daughters of St Paul, and Herald on 20 May 2023 at the St John Paul II Hall, St Francis of Assisi Parish here in conjunction with the 57th World Communications Day May 21.

Based on the WCD theme “Speaking with the Heart,” the speaker Melissa Perry focused on the Five Languages of Love as presented by Gary Chapman (1995): affirmation, acts of love, gift-giving, quality time and physical touch.

It depends on one’s style of giving and receiving love for all five are related to Christ’s way of loving as seen in the gospels.  Time was given to the 30-odd participants to find out their way of communicating love.

After the talk all gathered at the chapel for Mass presided by Fr Richard Antonysamy, the Ecclesiastical Assistant, followed by a fellowship lunch at the hall.
