KUDAT – In conjunction with World Youth Day (WYD) on Palm Sunday, St Peter’s parish youth pastoral team organised the Kudat Youth Day (KYD) on 7-9 Apr 2017 attended by 75 participants including the core team.

The event took its theme from Pope Francis’ WYD message: The Mighty One has done great things for me (Lk 1:49).

The message focused on how Mother Mary surrendered her life to God’s will and this was explained to the youth, who were encouraged to imitate the faith of Mary.

One of the activities was the screening of  “Miracles of Marcelino,” a story of a little orphan boy who lived with 12 monks after he was abandoned by his parents, and his relationship with the man in the attic.   Another key highlight for KYD is the thematic night.

Another activity was the thematic night.

On the final day, all the participants were fully involved in the preparation for the Palm Sunday Mass.   They made sure cleanliness was in order around the church compound.  They also had choir practice and liturgy rehearsal in the morning.

During the Mass, they served as wardens, commentator, lectors, psalmist, and choir.

Participants were also given an opportunity to share their experiences and testimony about the camp.

The camp concluded with the announcement of forthcoming youth activities. Marcella Marlene Meddy, Kudat TPBP Coordinator
