Ranau church receives 244 new members into its fold
RANAU – St Peter Claver Church here received 244 new members when they were baptised and received First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil on 15 Apr 2017.
The vigil began with the Service of the Light at the church’s parking lot. After the lighting of the Paschal Candle by Father Nicholas Stephen, he led the procession into the darkened church.
In his homily, Fr Nick said that at the end of the day, God is always our refuge because “he was able to give us, not only life but also salvation.
He added that the risen Christ brings hope of a brighter tomorrow for those who put their faith in him even amidst the great number of threats against the lives of Christians around the world today.
“With the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, tomorrow will surely come despite the world’s condition today, as we see churches being bombed like in Egypt,” he continued.
