Over 3,000 attend prayer vigil for peace and harmony
KOTA KINABALU – Over 3, 000 attended the prayer vigil for peace and harmony at the Padang Merdeka here on 31 Mar 2017.
The vigil, organised by the Sabah Council of Churches (SCC) and Commission on Sabah Affairs (COSA) drew an estimated crowd of 3,500 participants from the various churches around the state capital.
Prayer reflections were given by church heads or their representatives. Father Thomas Yip represented Archbishop John Wong.
The participants prayed for religious freedom, church unity and blessings for the nation. A special prayer was said for the safe return of Pastor Raymond Koh who was abducted in Kuala Lumpur on Feb 13. Koh’s wife, Susanna Liew, and daughter, Esther, were present at the vigil.
