KK Archdiocese celebrates memorial Mass for the late Brother Ben
KOTA KINABALU – Kota Kinabalu Archdiocese celebrated a memorial Mass for Brother Benedict Snoeren mhm on 20 Feb 2017 at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Sacred Heart Cathedral here.
Over 200 people attended the Mass including several religious.
Archbishop John Wong presided at the Mass. Joining him at the altar were Archbishop Emeritus John Lee and ten priests.
After the gospel proclamation, Father Rhobby Mojolou gave the eulogy of the late Mill Hill Missionary.
The late Brother had served in the archdiocese for almost 60 years, most of it in Bundu Tuhan. He was a carpenter by profession and together with Father William Roetenberg, Brother John Hoeskstra, and another Brother built up the Kinabalu Project Development in 1962.
Brother Ben was also associated with the construction and growth of the Don Bosco Children’s Home in Bundu Tuhan. He returned to Holland in July 2014 due to ill health. He died there two-and- a- half years later on Feb 13. He was buried in Holland on Feb 18. On that same day, Bundu Tuhan Parish also celebrated a memorial Mass for him.
