SH CWL marks 45th anniversary with Mass and dinner

BUKIT PADANG – The Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s League marked its 45th anniversary with Mass and dinner on 16 Nov 2016.

The anniversary Mass was held at Blessed Sacrament Chapel Karamunsing.  Archbishop John Wong presided over the Mass which was concelebrated with Father Wilfred Atin and Rayner Bisius.

The dinner was held at one of the local restaurants in Bukit Padang after Mass.  Over 700 people attended the dinner.

In her speech, Chairlady Anita Tunggolou reported on the activities done by the league.  She highlighted its contribution of RM70,000 to the formation of diocesan seminarians.  The check was later presented to the archbishop.

This, in turn, was confirmed by Abp Wong in his speech.  He admitted that it has contributed to the easing of the financial burden shouldered by the archdiocese in regard to the formation of the young men studying in the seminary.

The archbishop also reminded the members on the importance of showing love to their respective families, a theme he touched on in 2015.  He then congratulated and thanked the members for their 45 years of service.

Present also was Archbishop Emeritus John Lee, the assistant pastors, religious sisters and other invited guests.  The diners were entertained by a variety of solo and group performances.
