SM-EAM organises talk on growing closer to God
TANJUNG ARU – The Eucharistic Adoration Ministry of Stella Maris organized a talk entitled “Be Near To God” at Stella Maris Church Jul 19, which was presented by Friar Francisco Jude Basnayake, OFM.
Friar Francisco is currently undergoing his priesthood formation in Singapore. Interestingly, his own faith has been formed in the parish of Stella Maris and his parents are both members of the Eucharistic Adoration Ministry.
The talk has deepened our knowledge about Eucharistic Adoration in adoring and honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Jesus. It enhances how we should worship the Eucharistic Jesus to become what God wants us to be! In its fullest essence … Eucharistic Adoration is “God and Man reaching out for each other, at the same time!”
The Eucharistic Adoration is an act of heartfelt love before Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament. Like a magnet, the Lord draws us to Himself to gently transform us to bear our cross daily.
The Eucharistic Adoration Ministry in the parish of Stella Maris Church was launched by the then Archbishop John Lee on December 8, 1997 when Fr Francis Tsen, a passionate Eucharistic Adorer himself, was the parish priest. The Eucharistic Adoration Ministry started with a Perpetual Adoration with 24 hours round the clock but due to the dwindling number of Committed Adorers it has receded to a daily 5am to 10pm, except Sundays.
The Eucharist is His gift to all. Whether we are young or old, sick or healthy, poor or rich, we can reap immense spiritual and temporal blessings in our lives by regularly partaking in the sacrifice of the Holy Mass and Eucharistic Adoration!
Thus, our time spent with our Beloved Saviour in Adoration, can become the most profound, meaningful, joyful, peaceful and healing experience we could ever encounter!
“The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic Adoration. Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love.” (Pope John Paul II, Dominicae Canae)
“So, could you not watch with me one hour?”… (Mt 6:40) Jesus waits for us in the Blessed Sacrament.
